Younes Chaaban, a seasoned Chief Technical Officer, brings a wealth of experience in cellular communications environments. In his current role as Group Chief Technical Officer based in Beirut, Lebanon since 2012, Younes oversees all technical service activities for a mobile telecom company with operations across Africa. His collaboration with major telecom vendors and strategic development of network and IT services align with the company's vision and goals. Noteworthy achievements include the introduction of new technologies, the implementation of data charging systems, and the rollout of an enterprise-wide mobile money system.
As Group Technical Director at Africell Holding from 2008 to 2011, Younes played a pivotal role in spearheading network and IT initiatives. Managing a substantial annual technical budget, he negotiated agreements with suppliers, updated radio and core networks, and successfully built a new network operation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), covering 130 sites and various Value-Added Services (VAS).
Prior to his role at Africell Holding, Younes served as Technical Director at MTN Cyprus from 2006 to 2008, contributing to the launch of the initial Blackberry service in Cyprus and increasing the radio network by 35% through network expansion. His experience also includes roles as Senior Engineering Manager, Radio Consultant, and various planning and optimization positions in the telecom industry.
Younes holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix, Online, and a Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Communication Engineering from Beirut Arabic University, Lebanon. His educational background complements his practical expertise, reflecting a commitment to continuous growth and excellence.
